 Traditional Use: Peru Balsam has been used to ease rheumatic pain and help with irritated skin conditions. It is also useful for respiratory complaints.

Properties: Anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, cicatrix, expectorant, stimulant

Constituents: Benzoic acid, cinnamic acid, benzyl cinnamate, cinnamyl cinnamate.

Benefits: Asthma, bronchitis, colds, coughs, eczema, laryngitis, rashes, rheumatism, sores, wounds. Peru Balsam is a wonderful addition to blends formulated for skin irritations, because it may promote the growth of epithelial cells.

Blends Well With: Black pepper, ginger, jasmine, lavender, patchouli, petitgrain, rose, sandalwood, ylang ylang

Of Interest: This oil is used as a fixative and base note in soaps and body care products, and is sometimes found in commercial soft drinks.
