Traditional Use: In perfumery nutmeg oil is used as a fixative for citrus oils. Medicinally it has been used for digestive upsets and rheumatism.

Properties: Analgesic, antioxidant, antirheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, apertive, aphrodisiac, carminative, cholagogue, laxative, stimulant, tonic

Constituents:  a-Pinene, sabinene, myristicin

Benefits: Arthritis, diarrhea, exhaustion, fever, flatulence, halitosis, indigestion, loss of appetite, muscular aches and pains, nausea, neuralgia, poor circulation, rheumatism, slow circulation, slow digestion. Only a couple of drops are needed to act as a fixative for a blend of citrus oils.

Blends Well With: Bay, clary sage, coriander, geranium, lavender, lime, mandarin, oakmoss, orange, peru balsam, petitgrain, rosemary

Of Interest: Connecticut is nicknamed the nutmeg state.
